What is Psychotherapy?
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, also called talk therapy, is much more than talking. Psychotherapy is aimed at helping clients address a range of problems in their lives. Some seek counselling for guidance on dealing with personal relationships, managing troubling thoughts or emotions, or because they feel unable to stop an unhelpful behaviour. Psychotherapy is about equipping clients with the skills they need to manage these, and many other problems.

The focus of this form of therapy is to enable people to better manage stressful situations so they can experience an improved quality of life.

Is Psychotherapy right for you?
I believe maintaining mental health requires regular mental health check-ins and tune-ups via psychotherapy.
I believe psychotherapy is suitable for everyone, but it may not be right for everyone at all times.
Psychotherapy involves learning, so it is best implemented when you are:

Of relatively stable mental health and:
-
Interested in learning to manage stress better
-
Looking to change a specific behaviour
-
Willing to learn new skills
