Struggling with stress, relationships, or parenting? Mindful Growth is your wellness blog for mental health in Ontario. I’m Lindsey Hutchings, RN, Psychotherapist, and my practice LAH Counselling & Psychotherapy aims to increase access to improved mental health by offering both individual counselling sessions and public education via this blog, Mindful Growth. This blog supports anyone looking to get serious about their mental health. From single working professionals to married homemakers, and from some just starting out on their journey's while others are nearing their ends. With a little effort and support, everyone can experience better mental health. Accessing Psychotherapy Services in Ontario
While still challenging, finding psychotherapy in Ontario is made easier with resources like the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program for free CBT, Psychology Today for therapist directories, the Affordable Therapy Network for low-cost options, and the NPAO Registry for nurse psychotherapists. Mindful Growth complements these with mental health and wellness content and online therapy, including NIHB direct billing for eligible clients. Explore these resources to start your mental health journey. While there continues to exist barriers to accessing psychotherapy services in Ontario, there are some resources that make it possible. Some insurance companies provide some coverage and programs like the OSP Program offers a fixed number of session for adults with mild to moderate mental health conditions. Some individual therapists offer sliding-scale, which allows for reduced fees for eligible clients.
